Speaking on behalf of the Board, Staff and generous supporters of Stand Among Friends , we are so excited about the opening of our Center for the Study of Neurological Disabilities at FAU.
The Center, housed in a state-of-the-art facility, will provide information and guidance to your loved one affected by a neurological disability whether it is a lifestyle adjustment, healthcare issue or other related topic. The Center will also coordinate practical research efforts to develop new products and services for the neurological community so that those affected may lead stronger and more productive lives.
Most people don't realize that an alarming 1 in 5 Americans will face the debilitating effects of a neurological disability in their lifetimes like: Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, ALS, Spinal Cord injury, MS among many others. The establishment of a Center like ours has been long anticipated by people and their loved ones affected by neurological disorders and the outpour of support has been truly wonderful. However, our Center's opening is just the beginning...We are conducting a $6 million capital campaign to run and manage our institution.
Our fundraising efforts have begun with the introduction of our Family of Friends Benefactor's Wall where supporters can purchase plaques for $350, $500 and $1,000 for a loved one, business, foundation, friend etc. We will also have a Founder's Wall for top donors to purchase plaques for $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000. Other top sponsorship opportunities are also available like the Center's naming, The Director's Endowment, the Center's Computer stations and many others. All of the proceeds will go towards helping hundreds of thousands of people from our community, nationally and globally live a better quality of life with a neurological disability.
Looking forward, we have a plethora of fund raising events for the Fall: our Center's Kickoff Cocktail Party, A Cooking Event, Spin-a-thon, Shopping at Bloomingdales, Bite of Boca and a Major Donor Party to name a few.
