On Sunday, February 26, 2012, over 1,500 individuals came together to celebrate their abilities at Stand Among Friends’ 2nd Annual emb(race)â, our all-inclusive family fun event that featured a 5k & 10k walk/run and one mile family walk.

The emb(race) was held on the campus of Florida Atlantic University, participants ran, walked, strolled, and rolled, used a wheelchair or hand cycle – and enjoyed an event that celebrates our entire community. Emb(race)® is a message of hope – and a historic day that showcases everyone’s abilities.  The race began outside the Stand Among Friends Disability Center located on the FAU campus in Boca Raton.  The event was fun for the entire family and included games, activities, food, fun and more.

Thanks to the support of the community, family and friends, we raised over $135,000! We are already gearing up for the 2013 emb(race) and we hope to see everyone there on February 24, 2013!
